Chimerix has received funding through a combination of non-dilutive government grants and private equity investments from leading venture capital firms, including Alta Partners, Asset Management Company, Canaan Partners, Frazier Healthcare Ventures, Morningside Group, New Leaf Venture Partners, Pappas Ventures and Sanderling Ventures.


Alta Partners

Alta Partners is a San Francisco-based venture capital firm focused on life sciences investing. Founded in 1996, the firm has raised $2 billion in committed capital through eight venture fund programs. Alta invests in life sciences companies across the development continuum, from company formation to later-stage opportunities, and has funded more than 130 companies in the sector to date.


Asset Management Company

Asset Management Company is a leading Silicon Valley venture capital firm and is one of the first venture capital firms founded on the West Coast of the United States.
